Control Arm vs Ball Joint: Suspension OE Checks
Control arms and ball joints are related suspension parts but different commercial lines. A replacement request should state whether the buyer needs the complete arm, the joint, a bushing or a documented assembly.
Identify the supplied component
Confirm control arm, lower arm, upper arm, ball joint or bushing format. Record front or rear axle and left or right side where the product catalog separates applications. Do not add bushings, joints or hardware unless documented.
Verify OE and suspension application
Match the OE number with vehicle model, chassis, year, engine, drivetrain and suspension design when applicable. A similar shape or mounting hole count is not enough to establish fitment.
