Spark Plug Selection: OE Reference, Thread and Application Checks
Spark plugs should be selected from the engine application and OE reference, not only from a vehicle model name. The same model range may use different engines or plug specifications across production periods and markets.
Start with the OE or catalog reference
Copy the reference exactly and check whether the number has a superseding catalog entry. Record the engine code, displacement, production range, and vehicle market. If the customer provides only a photo, request the original number or VIN before confirming a quotation.
Specifications that need confirmation
Depending on the catalog, buyers may need to confirm thread size, reach, seat type, terminal design, heat-range reference, electrode construction, and required gap or calibration information. Do not infer a specification from appearance or promise a performance result that is not documented.
